"As far as we can tell, there has never been a blue marlin caught off Ocean City in May, so this 426 pounder, taken last week on the charter boat "Quicset" out of Bahia Marina, is definitely an historical catch. Capt. Scott Kemeys, kneeling, fought the fish for 3 1/2 hours on 50 lb. tackle just north of the 471 bump between the Washington and Norfolk Canyons. The rest of the crew included owner Nolen Graves, Capt. Mike Ruppert, Jimmy Ruppert and Mel McGinnis. The fish came up on its side and could not be revived, so it was boated. It had a 105 inch fork length and a 55 inch girth." (Coastal Fisherman Online Magazine) |
